Preparing for emergencies requires planning.

TVFD works closely with nearby fire departments using pre-arranged Mutual Aid agreements. This long standing system works well for any incident that is too large or complex to manage with available resources. If an incident becomes too large or complex for mutual aid we can activate a bigger set of plans through Emergency Management.

The Town of Thetford Emergency Operations Plan, hereafter referred to as the EOP, is designed to provide a framework to address the response to consequences of any disaster or emergency situation that would affect the population and/or property within Thetford, and to provide more specific response information on the most likely disasters. The EOP is applicable to natural disasters such as ice storms and hurricanes, human caused incidents such as civil disturbances; and technological situations such as hazardous materials incidents and power failures.
