In service since 1960.

Our department was chartered in 1960 as non-profit corporation and is governed by a Board of Trustees who arrange for and oversee our budget. They also appoint the Fire Chief for three year terms. We receive our operating budget as an appropriation from Town raised taxes, and fund raise an additional capital budget ourselves. New pumpers are purchased by the Town, with tax money raised by a warned article at Town Meeting.

TVFD is entirely volunteer and is staffed by 25 to 30 dedicated members who carry pagers 24 hours every day of the year. Our members will literally stop what they are doing and respond to their station. We respond to all calls with fully staffed apparatus and work hard to provide the Town with a professional level of service.
