Lights and Sirens

Vermont law requires that drivers yield to emergency vehicles that are displaying red lights and using a siren. This applies to private vehicles operated by responding firefighters and EMT's. Please pull to the right and stop. Failure to yield may delay our response and could cost you a fine and points on your drivers liscence.

Smoke Detectors

We still have several smoke detectors that were purchased by a grant. If your household includes children under 18, or seniors over 65, please let us give you a free detector.

Address Signs

Vermont has an advanced E-911 system that can pinpoint the location of an emergency call. We can locate most sites by matching the address with the mileage on a road, but encourage property owners to display their number. We can provide green address markers for a small fee.

Snow and Ice

Can you open your front door? Remember to clear snow and ice from all doors. You might need to use one for an emergency exit.
